Daughters of Ireland Umbrella
Inghinidhe na hÉireann - meaning Daughters of Ireland.
Strong wind resistant Classic umbrella with elegant wooden handle. Printed with black spiral illustration, inspired by research into women in Irish history.
Inghinidhe na hÉireann was founded by Maude Gonne. This design is dedicated to their part in the Celtic revival and the events which led to Easter 1916 Rising. I was very much inspired by Maude & Alice Milligan bringing tableaux vivants to the countryside & igniting the magic of Irish folklore.
Early 20th Century Ireland had a vibrant women’s equality movement, cemented by the roles women assumed. Original Design & handprinted by Angelina Foster.
Available in bright Yellow or Turquoise with black illustration.
White or Champagne with 3 tones of Purple. Also available as compact fold up light grey with 3 tones of purple.
